Richard R. Chavez
Regulatory and Environmental
Services Manager
Richard R. Chavez, manager of Regulatory and Environmental Services, has more than 30 years of environmental experience, including more than 20 years at WIPP. He has previously been manager of the RCRA Permitting and Waste Acceptance Sections of Regulatory Environmental Services.
His environmental experience prior to WIPP was in the uranium mining and milling industry. Chavez holds a master of science in chemistry degree from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His bachelor’s degree is in biology with a minor in chemistry.
